2015-16 Season Record: 55-27 (+10 wins from 2014-15)

PF Serge Ibaka--> Traded to Magic

F/C Mitch McGary

The Thunder come off of a disappointing exit in the Western Conference Finals to the Warriors redoing the entire fabric of their team. This started on draft night when Serge Ibaka was traded to Orlando for Domantas Sabonis, Ersan Ilyasova, and Victor Oladipo. Once Kevin Durant said he would join those Warriors (since he couldn't beat them...), Foye and Waiters waited until the end of free agency to find cheap one-year deals to increase their value for next year.

SG Victor Oladipo (Traded from Magic)

PF Ersan Ilyasova (Traded from Magic)

C Joffrey Lauvergne (Traded from Nuggets)

By far, the most important piece added is former #2 pick Victor Oladipo, whom the Magic decided is less valuable than Evan Fournier. Oladipo's relentless defensive abilities and ball handling will make him an instant starter and part of the most explosive backcourt in basketball. Ilyasova will also start in place of Ibaka and stretch the floor. Joffrey Lauvergne will provide valuable depth due to Mitch McGary's repeated drug mistakes.

Draft Picks: PF Domantas Sabonis (11th), G/F Alex Abrines (32nd- 2013), SG Semaj Christon (55th- 2014)

Team Needs: Backup SG

In place of Ibaka comes the son of Lithuanian All-Star center Arvydas, Domantas Sabonis. From Gonzaga, Sabonis was part of a three-man big unit that rotated him, Houston Rocket rookie Kyle Wiltjer, and Przemek Karnowski. His physicality and rebounding edge would work well as a small unit center or big unit PF, which is where he will likely see most of his time in OKC. Abrines finally comes over from Spain after holes in the wing opened up and Semaj Christon from Xavier joins the team looking to capitalize on Cameron Payne's injury as a third PG.

Player Decisions:

C Joffrey Lauvergne (1.71 million non-guaranteed)

SG Semaj Christon (.54 million non-guaranteed)

While I do believe the Thunder should keep Christon, they will likely keep Lauvergne only because they just gave up 2 2nd round picks for the former Nugget. However, if they do cut Mitch McGary as has been reported, there will be room to keep both players and I anticipate that being a palatable option provided the preseason goes as expected.

Draft and Stash Prospects:

C Dakari Johnson (8th)

C Sofoklis Schortsanitis (35th)

C Szymon Szewczyk (37th)

SG Yotam Halperin (41st)

PG Paccelis Morlende (62nd)

SG Daniel Hamilton (56th pick in 2016)

Current Roster (WAR/82):

PG Cameron Payne (.83)

PG Russell Westbrook (20.02)

SG Semaj Christon (Rookie)

SG Victor Oladipo (9.85)

G/F Alex Abrines (Rookie)

G/F Anthony Morrow (.39)

SF Kyle Singler (.33)

F Josh Huestis (1.31)

PF Nick Collison (1.08)

PF Ersan Ilyasova (1.15)

PF Domantas Sabonis (Rookie)

C Steven Adams (7.23)

Current WAR/82: 49.78

Projected Record: 49-33 (6th in West)
